Remember when a Britney Spears VMA performance was the pinnicle of a pop culture year? When the image of Britney suggestively writhing around a stage with a snake caused controversy and widespread erections? Well those times were truly in the past at Britney's lazy ass comeback performance at the VMAS. Hooker theme. Lip syncing no longer justified by intricate dance routines (Britney writhed her way through something an 8 year old could've done). Infact the only good thing was the clubby track. Opening with an image of her crappy hair extensions magnified a million times wasn't a great idea. She actually looked decent – but she can still do much better. I've no doubt Britney's comeback will do well – but only because a rabid fanbase still exists for her – Spears needs to get her act together if she wants to extend her appeal into a new audience, because the worlds patience with this particular celebrity has almost expired.
