Spielberg might have some deja-vu there.
November 26th, 2006Steven Spielberg is slamming television for being too violent, claiming he sends his children out of the room when it gets too much.
Steven Spielberg has blasted today’s television industry for exposing children to gruesome shows. The Saving Private Ryan director spoke out at the International Emmy’s directors meeting in New York on Monday, warning producers to act more responsibly. He singled out graphic trailers which showed “blood and people being dissected” such as for forensic drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Spielberg said, “I’m a parent who is very concerned. Today we need to be as responsible as we can possibly be, not just thinking of our own children but our friends’ and neighbors’ children. We certainly need to be responsible and careful about what we put into that box, because what comes out the other end truly has changed the world and will continue to change the world, for better or worse.”
If i do recall correctly, and I may be wrong in saying this, but a couple of films before the movie where Tom Cruise walked through peoples bodies exploding, and before the one where Tom Hanks walked through peoples bodies exploding, Spielberg made a few movies about dinosaurs which ate lots of people.
Steven Spielberg is also now appearing in the Alias Season 5 DVD boxset; a show which has tortured, beaten and brutally murdered more of its major characters than any other. So I guess what Steven Spielberg is really trying to get at here is that he hates David Caruso, which is really an un-necessary thing to be saying considering it’s an unspoken understanding between all television viewers globally.
